Painting from Home with an ONLINE Tutor

The benefits of this are numerous for sure! However many are still shy or discouraged to take this step.

The Pro’s:

  • No travelling to a class

  • No packing all your art supplies to attend a class

  • No interference from an over-helpful hands-on instructor - cough I’m guilty of this

  • You can access the recording of the session for future referral

  • Notes on the class can also be accessed so you can see the step by step instructions in front of you in B/W

  • The instructor - me - will be guiding you and painting with you in ‘real-time’ telling you which pigments to mix to achieve the colours needed

  • The instructor - me - will show you how and where of your every move

  • Better than painting by numbers as you can show how you are progressing and ask questions in real time.

The Cons:

  • If you don’t have a decent screen to work from it can be awkward and frustrating

  • You need good internet connection

  • The instructor - me - can’t actually pick up your brush and do it for you (maybe that is not a con?)

  • The fear of technology is real

  • You need to have a space to work from at home - however it doesn’t need to be a big space

Personally, I think it’s a great way to learn and hope you will try it out with me
