Liana Vargas is a world class flamenco dancer who has performed around the world dancing in such places at London's Royal Albert Hall, Sadlers Wells, Covent Garden, Barbican Centre, Madrid's La Zambra, Mexico Cities Meson de Triana as well as choreographing and appearing in numerous television commercials and interviews. Since returning to her home town Adelaide Liana has been instrumental in shaping the current flamenco scene. Her choreographic and directorial work with her performance company Teatro del Mundo enjoyed a successful decade of touring dance theatre productions which were generously supported by Arts SA and the Australia Council. Currently Liana is also undertaking a visual arts degree at Adelaide Central School of Art Liana hopes to combine her flamenco history with art history. Occassionally she also exhibits her paintings.... For those interested in studying flamenco dance Liana is offering a series of workshops and regular weekly classes for beginners to advanced levels at her fully equipped home studio in Aldgate, Adelaide Hills.
